Here are our first drone photos!

Look at the concentration on their faces!!

The photos from the DJI Tello are pretty good, considering that the photos are coming from a tiny camera on board a zippy, mini helicopter! With better light outside, I reckon our photos and videos will look even better. You can check out these tips for some ideas on light and cameras.

The children were blown away seeing the gym and themselves from a different perspective- from up high!

Earlier on in the week the children found it challenging to land the drone on the Mission Pad. Today was similar, they relied on the drone’s camera through the iPad to locate the Mission Pad and forgot to also look up at the drone and Mission Pad themselves.

The children had to juggle many things at one time:

  • Look up at the drone

  • Navigate the drone through its camera, using the iPad controls

  • They had to be aware of where the Mission Pad was in relation to the drone

  • They had to steer and control the drone from its perspective rather than their own- left and right, backwards and forwards, and up and down. They even had to manage controlling the camera too, from side to side!
